Tom Wood Automotive is helping the City of Indianapolis stay on the cutting edge of green vehicle adoption after the introduction of a new mandate for an oil-free vehicle fleet. An Executive Order signed by Mayor Greg Ballard yesterday mandates that Indianapolis replace its current fleet of city-owned sedans with electric and other non-oil burning vehicles by 2025. Mayor Ballard hopes that introducing electric and other alternative fuel powered vehicles will reduce and eventually eliminate our dependence on foreign oil, thus saving lives and strengthening our foreign policy leverage.

Tom Wood Toyota brought a Toyota Prius Plug-In to yesterday's ceremony on Monument Circle to illustrate how 'normal' an electric vehicle can be.
