Toyota Helps Power Yellowstone National Park

The nation's oldest National Park is ready for some new power.  Toyota Camry hybrid batteries will soon power the Lamar Buffalo Ranch field campus in Yellowstone National Park.  It's a new lease on life for the batteries and new, zero emission, energy option for the Park.  Now that's a 'bear-able' solution!

Tom Wood Toyota is extremely proud to partner with Toyota, Duke Energy, Sumimoto Electric and Energy Systems Network on a Smart Charging Technology pilot program. During a kick-off event held at the Tom Wood Collision Center last Wednesday, five Duke Energy customers were each presented with the keys to a new Toyota Prius Plug In equipped with special communication technologies.

An Executive Order signed by Mayor Greg Ballard yesterday mandates that Indianapolis replace its current fleet of city-owned sedans with electric and other non-oil burning vehicles by 2025. Mayor Ballard hopes that introducing electric and other alternative fuel powered vehicles will reduce and eventually eliminate our dependence on foreign oil, thus saving lives and strengthening our foreign policy leverage.

Toyota Unveils 2013 RAV4 EV

Last week, Toyota revealed the highly anticipated all-new Toyota RAV4 EV at the 26th annual Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles. This all-electric SUV has an expected driving range rating of approximately 100 miles and charging time of approximately six hours on a 240V/40A charger. The RAV4 EV's driving performance, dynamics and cargo capacity are equal to or exceed the gas powered RAV4 V6.
